Who We Are
Hello/Bozho!
Welcome to our online store. We are Janelle and Todd, a long-time married couple, and homeowners in Hartford, Wisconsin. We have 2 adult children, and 3 cats named Uma, Primus and Lucky. Since we made our first mudpies as kids, we have both held an interest for all things outdoors. Previous to our greenhouse ambitions, Todd was a metal fabricator for 25 years. In combination with his natural green thumb, he uses the ingenuity he acquired during his former career to build our little nursery to operate as naturally as possible. When he’s not making improvements to our grow space, he’s likely collecting, polishing, or cutting gemstones and rocks for our daughter’s business.
Janelle is largely responsible for former business management, such as scheduling new plant deliveries, answering emails, and fulfilling orders. It was her growing passion for houseplants that spurred the idea to open a greenhouse. The name Yellow Cloud was also inspired by the English translation of her Potawatomi name, Zhwan Kodok.
Together, we are the sole owners and operators of our small business. While our website is relatively new, our experience is not. Over the last 20 years, we’ve grown everything from CBD to vegetables, and we’re constantly scouring our sources to expand our gardens and houseplant collection.
